Scientific Project Manager (m/f/d)

Your mission

As a Project Manager for our strategic and commercial research projects you will be working closely with both developers and researchers across engineering, chemistry or pharma affairs, and with our commercial team, customers and external partners. Your goal will be to ensure that some of our most important projects deliver as planned while maintaining a smooth process for internal and external stakeholders.

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with a scientific or engineering background and customer-facing experience who can translate between strategic objectives and day-to-day deliverables, managing a variety of complex projects in a fast moving environment. 


Your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Lead cross-functional project teams to deliver research, development and commercial projects, working internally with all of our research and engineering teams as well as externally with partners in biomedical research, patient care and related fields

  • Plan, coordinate, monitor and manage assigned projects to safeguard their quality and progress within time and budget from initiation through delivery 

  • Take over project member / work package owner role, when required e.g. create commercial deliverables such as business plans

  • Support the evaluation of new projects and collaborations as well as the definition of project scope and goals in alignment with key stakeholders to bring the benefits of our technology to researchers and patients alike

  • Forward-looking identification and assessment of project risks and definition of mitigation strategies in alignment with our company priorities and strategy

  • Drive collaboration, effective communication and transparency within the project teams as well as across the company and with external collaborators, evaluators and funding agencies

  • Act as single point of contact for external partners and foster sustainable relationships

Your profile
  • Academic degree (e.g. MSc, MD, PhD) in biomedical sciences, chemistry, physics, engineering or comparable

  • > 3 years experience in project management, ideally in health research/ care

  • Ability to  drive multiple competing priorities, escalate risks and facilitate decision making 

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, ability to influence and manage internal and external stakeholders and experience in reporting on both complex technical and commercial topics

  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills

  • Fluent English and German skills 

  • Comfortable with a range of project management methodologies (classical / sequential/ waterfall, agile etc.)

  • Solid understanding of collaborative and funded (publicly / privately) research projects is a plus

  • Project Management certifications are a plus

Those devices are placed close to an MRI scanner in a clinical environment or a research lab to produce hyperpolarized contrast agents on demand. The hyperpolarized solution is prepared in a fast, fully-automated, multi-step process including chemical reactions, polarization transfer and several purification steps. We develop our commercial products in close collaboration with a
 product development partner, while the process development as well as the design of test setups and prototypes is done in-house.
